In the latest update, Android Auto version 15.9.6551, new code has been discovered that hints at the potential introduction of Google Cast support. This feature could enable users to share media between their smartphones and vehicle systems, enhancing the overall experience. It would also bridge Android Auto more closely with Android Automotive, which already supports casting capabilities.
Notably, this update features a stylish new wavy progress bar in line with Material 3 design (you can check out the details here), but the intriguing part lies in the evidence suggesting that casting functionality is being developed. The team at 9to5Google uncovered strings in the code related to the Media Router framework that specifically mention Google Cast within the context of using it in cars.
