The society's petition has gained traction, leading to the proposal of new rules by the Tewkesbury Borough Council.
The proposed measures include written warnings for repeat offenders and potential financial penalties. However, residents like Kamila Pavolva, a doctor, have criticized the proposals as 'nonsense', emphasizing the practical challenges of removing bins while at work. Alan Purkiss, the chair of the civic society, believes that the bins are severely impacting the town's tourism and property values.
