We’re about to find out.’ It’s a mix of excitement and uncertainty, but for some, that uncertainty quickly turns into disappointment.
And this is the part most people miss: It’s not just about delays—it’s about the lack of solutions. Reed Gibson, whose flight home was canceled, described the situation: ‘We had an email earlier saying it might be delayed, but now it’s canceled. We’re at the Frontier desk, and they told us there are no more flights today. Everything’s canceled. There’s no customer service on site, so I guess I’ll have to call and try to rebook.’* But rebooking isn’t easy. Erin Brandt, another stranded traveler, recounted her frustrating experience: ‘I called, explained my situation, and was told, “Nope, we have no options for you.” I asked about other airports, other airlines—San Jose, Oakland? Anything? But the answer was always the same: “Nope, I have nothing.”’
